Perihelion is upon us again and, in the spirit of the season, Tree Lobsters is running a charity fundraiser. From Perihelion (1/3/2010) until Pi Day (3/14/2010), Tree Lobsters will donate half the profits from its shops (roughly 5% of the sales price) to Engineers Without Borders, a charity that works to provide necessities such as clean water, power, sanitation and education.

Want to help? Here's what you can do:
1. Scroll down to the bottom of this page and buy some Tree Lobsters crap.
2. Got your own geek/nerd/skeptic/science blog/webcomic with an online shop? How about donating a portion of the profits? If you do, let me know and I'll link to your site from here.
3. Know someone with a popular geek/nerd/skeptic/science blog/webcomic? Maybe you could nudge them a bit to get them to join in.
4. Tweet, Digg, Reddit this page. Anything to get the word out.
5. If none of the Tree Lobsters crap appeals to you, you can always donate directly to Engineers Without Borders. You can also donate to one of their member organizations, if you'd prefer.

To be honest, I don't expect to raise much from Tree Lobsters alone. I'll consider it a success if I manage more than $20. On the other hand, if a couple hundred sites did the same thing, we could raise a few thousand, which wouldn't be too shabby.
